SAS Group was established in 2002 with an aim to design, develop and implement software solutions for GPS fleet management, asset and personnel monitoring. The shareholders of the company include citizens of the USA, Germany and Romania who have several years of experience in IT and telco industries (e.g. SQL experts from Microsoft USA) as well as automotive industry. 
The main goal of the company is to provide companies with efficient and easy to use tools for optimising costs and operational processes related to fleet management and GPS asset monitoring.
In 2007 as a result of the dynamic growth the company reached a leadership position on the GPS fleet monitoring and management solutions market in Romania. Currently the company serves more than 700 clients and their 11 thousand vehicles.
The key to success of SAS Group was the development of a unique fleet management solution combining unparalleled ease of use with a wealth of functionalities and report generation options. 

The company now employs 25 programmers and experts in Romania, Germany and the USA supported by more than 100 dealer companies and servicing workshops that ensure logistic support for the services.

In 2009 the company's turnover exceeded 1,6 M Euro with profitability of more than 9%. The dynamic growth, the professionalism of the solutions offered as well as the continued cooperation with Orange Romania led to the SAS Group's Orange Romania Gold Partner award in 2010. 
Another consequence of such dynamic growth was the adjustment of the company's strategic goals to include international expansion into the countries of the European Union and reaching the position among the top 5 GPS monitoring and fleet management solutions providers.

As a step toward implementing this strategic goal the German branch of the company was opened in 2009 in Munich - SAS Group GmbH (www.sasgroup.de). Currently the Polish branch of SAS Group (SAS GPS Sp. z o.o.) is in operation with its main office in Wroclaw and a trade unit in Warsaw.
